Food Diary / Sapporo / 20 Jan 2025
A comforting lunch near Hokkaido Jingu.
After the shrine we grabbed lunch nearby. Warm, familiar, filling, and no planning needed.
Omurice, fried seafood, salad and a hamburger-style patty with sauce. More family-trip reset than destination restaurant.
Not every food stop needs a strong point of view. Sometimes it just fits the day.
Good travel-day lunch. Nothing too heavy or complicated. Just warm, familiar and filling enough before the next place.
The mixed plate felt like a comfy family-trip lunch, not a meal you plan a day around. That's exactly why I'm keeping it here.
Quick Take
A travel-day lunch that did its job
It never tried to be more than it was. Right time, right amount of comfort.
Moving through a city with family, you don't always need the “best” lunch. You need one that gives everyone a proper break before the next stop. A nearby reset, not a destination meal.
Trip context: lunch after Hokkaido Jingu, when we wanted something easy and satisfying, not a food detour.
Disclosure: I paid for this meal in full. Nothing here was hosted, comped, or discounted.
