Food Diary / Osaka / 23 Jan 2025
CoCo Curry was the exact lunch Osaka Castle needed.
After a morning around Osaka Castle, this Shin Umeda curry stop didn't need to be special. It just had to be warm, filling, reliable and easy to fit into the day.
Simple Japanese curry and a crispy cutlet. Easy comfort, with more walking still ahead.
Some lunches know exactly what they are. This was one.
Nothing fancy. Warm sauce, crispy cutlet, rice, and enough comfort to make the afternoon easy again after sightseeing.
Familiar, filling, dependable. Often exactly what you want near Umeda in the middle of a busy day.
Quick Take
Reliable Japanese curry still counts on a trip
A good travel meal doesn't have to be rare or dramatic. Sometimes you just need the place that gives you the lunch you actually need.
CoCo Curry near Shin Umeda did that. Cutlet, curry and rice reset the day without slowing it down much. Practical in the best way.
Trip context: a good lunch after the castle, with more walking still to do.
Disclosure: I paid for this meal in full. Nothing here was hosted, comped, or discounted.
