Food Diary / Sapporo / 19 Jan 2025
Fresh salmon sashimi and a juicy king crab leg.
Forgot the restaurant name, not the meal. After Moerenuma Park, a Hokkaido seafood lunch just made sense: fresh, simple, easy, no big plan.
The name went first, the taste stayed. So this isn't really a restaurant rec, more a seafood note from Sapporo.
Can't remember the name, but the lunch holds up because the seafood was simple and good.
The salmon sashimi tasted very fresh. Clean, rich flavour that makes a simple bowl feel special. It didn't need explaining once it hit the table.
The king crab leg was a highlight too: juicy, satisfying, fun to eat. Together, worth keeping in the trip notes even without a name attached.
Quick Take
A seafood lunch that kept it simple
No theatrics, no big restaurant story. Fresh fish, juicy crab, and it made sense in Sapporo.
I keep meals like this because not every good stop needs perfect notes. Sometimes the flavour outlasts the label. It still helps when you're deciding what kind of meal to make room for in Sapporo.
Trip context: seafood lunch after Moerenuma Park, when something fresh and filling fit the day perfectly.
Disclosure: I paid for this meal in full. Nothing here was hosted, comped, or discounted.
