Food Diary / Sapporo / 20 Jan 2025
Soft serve in freezing weather.
Soft serve outside Shiroi Koibito Park. Delicate, sweet, and way more memorable than it should be, because it was so cold.
Simple treat, but it fit the visit so well it gets its own little note.
A small sweet stop can mean a lot when the setting's right.
After watching how the Shiroi Koibito biscuit gets made, soft serve outside was the natural way to end the visit. The whole park, in something you could actually taste.
Smooth and delicate, clean sweetness, not too heavy. The joke, of course: eating ice cream while Sapporo was freezing.
Quick Take
A simple dessert that worked because of when and where
No need for a long review or its own detour. It shows up at the right moment and wraps up the park visit.
Best part was how naturally it fit. After the factory visit, soft serve was the obvious last small treat before moving on. Good park add-on, not a destination dessert.
Trip context: a light sweet stop in the middle of a winter Sapporo day. Memorable partly because the weather made it a bit absurd.
Disclosure: I paid for this meal in full. Nothing here was hosted, comped, or discounted.
